Donald Becker - Founder and Director of S.I.B.
Violin, Viola, Kodály music classes.
B.M. Ohio State University School of Music; M.M. Eastman
School of Music. He
studied with Dr. Suzuki and Yuko Mori for over three years in Japan
and supervises the violin teachers in using Dr. Suzuki’s teaching
points. He holds a teacher’s diploma from the Talent Education
Institute in Matsumoto, Japan and has studied at the summer program
of the Kodály Center of America. He is a candidate for SAA certification
as a teacher trainer.
Katie Quann, Assistant Director - Violin
B.M. violin performance, B.A. psychology, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, M.M. violin performance, Bowling Green State University. She has taught at Heidelberg College, Tiffin College and worked with the Milwaukee Youth Orchestra. She has performed with numerous orchestras in Ohio and Michigan. Suzuki Institute of Boston staff training program.
Diran Heller - Piano
B.M. Boston Conservatory, M.M. Boston University. He has studied both piano and composition. He was winner of the All Newton Music School Concerto Competition in 1982. He teaches piano and theory from elementary to college levels.
JiYun Jeong - Violin
B.M. violin performance, B.M. vocal performance, The Royal Conservatory of Music in The Hague, Netherlands, M.M. violin performance, University of Oregon, M.M. violin performance, New England Conservatory of Music. She is the Principle second for the New Bedford Symphony Orchestra and performs with the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra. She was also a teaching assistant for the University of Oregon. Suzuki Institute of Boston training program.
Lijiong Liao - Violin
B.M. Central Conservatory of Music, Beijing China, M.A. violin performance, University of Iowa, M.A. M.M. Boston University. She was second prize winner of the violin competition at the Conservatory in China and two-time winner of the Bach Prize at Boston University. Suzuki Institute of Boston staff training program.
